When lonely and in a gloomy mood
In the middle of the night I call thee
Calling your name cause to me you have been good
Hoping my blues you would turn to glee
Calling your name that to me you would come
And to me happiness and hope you’ll bring
Calling your name out loud like a distant drum
And for you I asked the robins to sing
All through the dark night for you I’ve waited
Hoping that light to me you would give
Cause every moment of mine you’ve delighted
Wishing in tears that me you would not leave.
Yet here I am in sadness and in tears
For my loud cry you haven’t heard my dear.
