.

breaking the long silence
came as a surprise
but it was inevitable
the heart devoid of anticipation
could not and would not
find the right words to say
and just let time pass by
with usual talk
as though there never was
silence along the way
for a while a glimpse of hope
seemed there to shed light

but no, for now just let it be
let not the heart flinch
in case there be silence again
coz it hurts too much
and wrings one of self worth
let the broken silence
find its way and decide
if it indeed is finally broken
or soon be back true to its form
another deafening silence
haunting the recesses
of one’s soul

There are times when God asks nothing of his children except silence, patience and tears. — C. S. Robinson

Where I am, I don’t know, I’ll never know, in the silence you don’t know, you must go on, I can’t go on, I’ll go on.– Samuel Beckett

Not merely an absence of noise, Real Silence begins when a reasonable being withdraws from the noise in order to find peace and order in his inner sanctuary.– Peter Minard

Under all speech that is good for anything there lies a silence that is better. Silence is deep as Eternity; speech is shallow as Time. — Thomas Carlyle

myepinoy: too serious, don’t you think so?

Francis Bacon says:

Silence is the virtue of fools.

while Mark Twain says:

It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

I say, it is better to improve the silence before you entertain the noises in the head. That way you’ll be able to distinguish what is truthful and what is not.

A fool always gives in to the desire of making noises without knowing what silence means. In doing so, he speaks just to talk, he talks just to make noise, and after a while he does not know why?

Silence may mean many things. Silence is better than noise.
