sometimes there are things in life that make one sad
may be a deep frustration or things going bad
and no matter what, the pain remains in the heart
why oh why, it seems not wanting to part?
it must be okay for sadness to linger for a while
just a feeling so low, how could one ever smile?
immobilized, the world has stopped, time passing by
does one fret, does one give in, does one cry?
is sadness simply an emotion that is just felt
or could it be a choice that has to be dealt?
for one has to rise from the limbo of lingering pain
as one seeks comfort, starts anew, with a lot to gain
oh well if one has not experienced inimitable sadness
how can one experience the meaning of true happiness
how can one appreciate the joy and the laughter
come now, out of this sadness–maybe just a little bit later?
